Kentucky Owl®, “The Wise Man’s Bourbon,” today announced the release of its latest Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey – Batch #8. The latest bourbon from Master Blender Dixon Dedman comes with a much higher yield, enabling distribution in 28 states as compared to seven states with the popular batch #7 that was released in August 2017. At 121 proof and 60.5% alcohol by volume, Batch #8 holds the highest proof of any of Dedman’s batches thus far.

The Kentucky Owl Batch #8 release totals 9,051 bottles produced from 4 different distillates, aged 14 years, 11 years, 8 years, and almost 5 years. It features a cinnamon, apple, nutmeg, vanilla pudding pop nose with a hint of caramel and red pepper. The mouthfeel is strong, rich, syrupy and the finish lingers while working its way from the spice on the back of the palate towards the front after each sip.

“This is the biggest, boldest, most robust release of Kentucky Owl I have put together to date. The complexity on the palate constantly drives me back to the glass to confirm what I’m tasting, while perplexing me with different flavors over and over,” said Dedman. “I’m looking forward to introducing Kentucky Owl to bourbon drinkers in so many new markets for us, which the higher yield enables us to do.”

Rudy Costello, President & CEO of Stoli Group USA, which distributes and markets Kentucky Owl, added, “Stoli Group took ownership of Kentucky Owl in January of 2017, and began distributing with Batch #7 about a year ago. We quickly found that there was appetite for more of Dixon’s award-winning bourbon. Still, each batch and quantity are up to Dixon’s discretion, and his alone, and nothing gets released without his seal of approval. Following the accolades that our Batch #7 Bourbon and our Batch #1 Rye Whiskies received, we could not be more excited to bring our Batch #8 Bourbon to market.  We continue to invest heavily in the Kentucky Owl brand and production, including our plans for a new distillery and Kentucky Owl Park in Bardstown, KY.”

Kentucky Owl Batch #8 will be available in limited quantities in the following markets beginning in August 2018 with a suggested retail price of $300 for a 750mL bottle: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Colombia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. In May, Whisky Advocate awarded Kentucky Owl Rye #1 95 points and the top spot in its Summer 2018 Buying Guide.
