Grand Marnier Cherry Cocktails

 

The forthcoming introduction from the House of Marnier-Lapostolle: Grand Marnier Cherry (SRP $41.99 / 750ml), a limited edition expression for holiday 2012 that will debut nationwide in September. The product expertly blends Grand Marnier’s signature premium cognacs with the essence of natural European Griottes cherries. The best way to enjoy it is a mixed drink. Here are a few favorite recipes.

 

Grand Cerise Surprise

1 1/2 oz Grand Marnier Cherry
3/4 oz dark aged rum
1 oz milk
1/4 oz simple syrup
Pour Grand Marnier Cherry, dark aged rum, milk and simple syrup into a
shaker filled with ice.  Shake well and strain into an ice-filled rocks
glass.  Garnish with dark chocolate shavings.

Smoked Grand Cherry

2 1/2 oz Grand Marnier Cherry
3 dashes orange bitters
Splash of smoky single malt scotch whisky
In a well chilled martini glass, rinse inside with whisky and pour out
remainder.  Stir Grand Marnier Cherry and orange bitters in a mixing glass
filled with ice.  Strain into whisky rinsed glass and garnish with an orange
peel (flamed orange peel optional).


Grand Cherry-Hattan

2 oz Grand Marnier Cherry
3/4 oz sweet vermouth
3 dashes angostura bitters
In a shaker filled with ice, stir Grand Marnier Cherry, sweet vermouth an
angostura bitters.  Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish a
brandied cherry.
