Created by mixologist Chris Milligan for the Secreto Bar, located inside the St. Francis Hotel in downtown Santa Fe, this cocktail uses chiles to add a little heat and a lot of flavor.

The Agave Way

5 black grapes

1 slice New Mexico green chile

1/2 oz Lime juice

1/2 oz agave syrup (3:1 mix of agave nectar and water)

2 oz Reposado tequila

Muddle the grapes, chile, agave and lime juice in a mixing glass. Add tequila and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and serve garnished with a grape and chile slice. And you end up with a cocktail with beautiful color, as well as a slight, mild heat and kick to it from the chilie.
