At Galante Vineyards, the philosophy is to grow the finest grapes possible and let them speak for themselves through the wine. Several factors influence the quality of the grapes grown at their vineyards. Due to the extreme daily temperature variations in Cachagua (upper Carmel Valley), the growing season is very long with harvest normally occurring in mid October. This long “hang time” causes the grapes to ripen slowly, intensifying their rich berry flavors.

Not due to be released until later in March, this wine is already showing well. The nose is vivid, full of lively citrus and stone fruit aromas. The palate is very crisp and dry, with lemon, lime, and grapefruit flavors, unfolding into notes of stone fruits, and finishing on a hint of dusty oak. Grilled halibut in a light, citrus sauce would make a lovely paring.
