Grapes for this wine were grown at Bootjack Ranch, on the east side of the Salinas River, in Paso Robles. With blocks planted in 1999, 2001, and 2005, Bootjack Ranch covers 125 acres and boasts the hearty red varietals that Paso Robles is known for producing, including: Syrah, Merlot, Barbera, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

This Syrah opens up after a few minutes in a glass, revealing a nose of blackberry, cherry, bacon, and a hint of pinewood. Firm tannins give the wine plenty of backbone as cherries and blackberries reappear on the palate, along with notes of smoked meat and black pepper. Hearty beef dishes will compliment this bottle quite well.
