Viticulture Notes

During the 2007 growing season, the summer months were dry, with no rain to threaten rot or mildew, a factor that is particularly relevant in the growth of exceptional Zinfandel. Warm sunshine developed ripe flavors, and cool evening temperatures allowed for slow and even maturation while maintaining proper levels of acidity.

Review

A blend of 89% Zinfandel and 11% Petite Sirah, the nose is concentrated with ripe boysenberry, black raspberry, plum, spice, and smoky, woodsy notes. When sipped, ripe fruit flavors unfold with jammy blackberry and raspberry flowing into nuances of vanilla and sweet spice from aging in French and American oak. Pair a bottle with some succulent, smoked ribs and enjoy.
