The wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains are showcasing their wines at the fifth annual Silicon Valley Wine Auction Grand Tasting at the historic Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, California on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Hosted by the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association (SCMWA), the Grand Tasting is the finale of the Silicon Valley Wine Auction weekend, which also includes a wine auction dinner on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

VIP and General Admission tickets are now available for the Grand Tasting, which features 150 wines from 40 Santa Cruz Mountains vintners. The event offers wine enthusiasts an opportunity to taste premium wines from this world-class wine region located in Silicon Valley’s backyard. VIP wine tours, rare verticals of wine, magnum bottles, luxury wine accessories, exclusive tastings with vintners and memorabilia are just some of the silent auction items Grand Tasting attendees are encouraged to bid on. In addition to the tasting, guests can explore the grounds of the Montalvo estate mansion, a national historic landmark built in 1912 by James Duval Phelan, three-term mayor of San Francisco and U.S. Senator.

Over the past five years, these events have raised over $3.7 million to support non-profit, educational organizations in the Silicon Valley community. The Silicon Valley Education Foundation and Oxford Day Academy are beneficiaries for the 2019 events.

Event sponsors include Alaska Airlines, Edible Silicon Valley, Los Gatos Magazine and Wine & Spirits.
