Robert Hall 2014 Syrah

Tasting Notes:
Aromas of cherries, blackberries, and blueberries meld with suggestions of dark chocolate, clove, and oak on the nose. A sip delivers flavors of dark cherry, boysenberries, and blueberries that open up into nuances of sweet spice, chocolate, and cedar. Rich fruit carried by polished tannins integrates nicely with savory, smoky notes making this Syrah a good match for chicken mole.

Tasting Notes:
Fragrances of Asian pear, green apple skin, wild grass, and vanilla rise up from a glass. The palate showcases flavors of pineapple, pear, and tart apple, accented by traces of vanilla bean and grass. Fairly round, yet still lively on the palate, swordfish would make a very nice pairing.

Blueberries and blackberries intermingle with notes of spice, bacon, and smoke on the nose. Black cherry, blueberry, and bramble fruit emerge on the palate moving into hints of cocoa, smoked meat, and clove. Opulent dark fruit and plentiful tannins endear this wine to steak tacos.

Aromatics of cassis, blackberries, and blueberries mingle with clove, cocoa, and oak on the nose. With a sip, flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and cassis come together with elements of dark chocolate, toasty vanilla, and fennel seed. A lighter style of Cab, it’s soft tannins and ripe fruit make it a good match for a roast chicken.

A bouquet of blackberries, plums, leather, and dusty earth greet the senses. Flavors of blackberry, cherry, and plum come forth on the palate, along with traces of earth and oak. The core of ripe dark fruit is appealing and cocoa tannins make it best enjoyed with food, like pasta in a meat sauce.

Notes of cherry, cassis, and blueberry interweave with allusions of cedar and minerals on the nose. Lush dark fruit and a touch of vanilla is framed by woodsy and minerally suggestions on the palate. Polished tannins are in concert with lively flavors. Your favorite lamb dish would pair nicely.
