As you map out your 2016 Super Bowl shindig details, you’re likely stirring up dreams of spicy buffalo hot wings, spinach dips, heroic-sized nachos, and cheesy chili potato skins, with a healthy dose of beer. As firm believers in variety, we think having a pitcher or big bowl of cocktails makes for the perfect addition to any game day menu. Here are a few with a nice, spicy kick from Soltado Tequila.

Hail Mary-Maria

Serves 15+

  • 1 bottle Soltado Tequila, chilled
  • 64 ounces high-quality unsalted tomato juice, chilled
  • 6 grilled lemon, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbs freshly ground black pepper
  • 10 dashes cayenne pepper sauce
  • 4 tsp freshly grated horseradish
  • Rim: kosher salt and cracked pepper
  • Garnish:
    • Half bunch celery
    • Olives
    • Bacon
    • Lemons
    • Carrots
    • Cherry tomatoes

Place salt and pepper in a shallow saucer. Rub rim of a collins glass with a lemon wedge, dip into salt mixture. Set glass aside.

 

Add Worcestershire, black pepper, cayenne pepper sauce, and horseradish to a pitcher or bowl. Fill Soltado Tequila, tomato juice, and juice of remaining lemon wedges. Stir, taste for seasoning and heat, and adjust as necessary. Surround with bloody Maria garnish bar for guests to choose as toppings.

Onside Mule Kick

Serves 20+
  • 1 bottle Soltado Tequila
  • ½ bottle ginger liqueur
  • 2 ½ cups fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbs aromatic bitters
  • 10-12 bottles ginger beer (or 1 ½ 2 liter bottles)
  • Garnish: Mint sprigs, orange slices, lime slices
Stir Soltado Tequila, liqueur, juice, and bitters together in a punch bowl, with ice.  Add ginger beer, float mint sprigs, orange, and lime slices. Serve immediately.

Pineapple Pigskin Punch

Serves 20+
  • ½ bottle Soltado Tequila
  • 64 oz pineapple juice, chilled
  • 8 oz amaretto
  • 5 oz fresh lime juice, chilled
  • Garnish: Lime slices, pineapple cubes
Stir the Soltado Tequila, amaretto liqueur, juice, and bitters together in a punch bowl, with ice. Garnish. Serve immediately.

All American Sack
Serves 20+
  • 1 bottle of Soltado Tequila
  • 8 cups apple cider, chilled
  • 1 large bottle ginger beer (750 ml), chilled
  • 3 bottles dry hard cider, chilled
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 5 dashes Scrappy’s orange bitters
  • 1 medium orange, sliced thin
  • 1 apple, sliced thin horizontally (discard seeds)
  • Garnish: star anise, cinnamon sticks
Combine all ingredients in a large punch bowl, stir. Top with orange slices, apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and star anise. Ladle into punch glasses, serve.
