With Mother’s Day coming up, one could always buy mom the tried and true red roses, but we’d bet that a lot of moms out there would prefer the kind they can drink.  So here are some Rosés that are all tasty, not too pricey, and great for Sunday bunch. 

Joel Gott 2017 Rosé

Grape(s): 86% Grenache, 10% Grenache Blanc, 2% Cinsault, & 2% Counoise

Region: Central Coast, Ca

Tasting Notes:

A friendly, delicate nose of red berries, melons, and citrus blossoms rises up from a glass. The palate showcases flavors of strawberry, watermelon, and honeydew that mix among hints of minerals and spring flowers. Welcoming fruit and an approachable acidity make this a very sipable wine.

Grape(s): 69% Syrah, 14% Vermentino, 9% Carignan, & 8% Pinot Noir

Region: Sonoma County, Ca

Tasting Notes:

Strawberries, raspberries, and citrus fruits meld among whispers of minerals on the nose. On the palate, there’s an interplay of peach and strawberry flavors that are accented by allusions of citrus and wet stone. This is a balanced, flavorful Rosé that one could sip on a warm evening or enjoy with fresh, grilled fish.

Tasting Notes:

Lively red berries, spring flowers, and orange peal dominate the nose. The palate showcases flavors of raspberry, orange, and cranberry, along with accents of fresh herbs and wild flowers. Vibrant and pleasantly tart, it’s a nice Rosé for the price.

Tasting Notes:

Strawberries, golden apples and peaches play with hints of lemon peal on the nose. Welcoming fruit envelopes the palate with peach, strawberry, and apple taking the lead. A balanced acidity and a friendly character make this a very approachable Rosé.
