With a history as vibrant as its flavor, cachaça is no ordinary spirit. Known as the everyman’s liquor, cachaça is as integral to Brazilian culture as Carnevale or Samba, as it’s one of the most consumed alcohols in Brazil (second only to beer). My client, Cachaça 51 is the most popular brands of cachaça and sells 17 million cases in Brazil yearly. Here are some lovely cocktail recipes to enjoy it in:
Brooklynite
2 oz Cachaça 51
4 dashes angostura bitters
.75 oz lime juice
.75 oz honey syrup
Pour all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into a coupe (martini) glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 simple syrup infused with hibiscus
3 to 4 blueberries
.5 oz lime juice
.5 oz simple syrup
.75 oz carrot juice
Ginger beer
