Zaca Mesa 2008 Viognier / Santa Ynez Valley
in California Wines Santa Barbara County Wine Reviews by Jasonb — March 22, 2010 at 8:15 am | 0 comments
Zaca Mesa is a Santa Ynez Valley estate winery dedicated to Rhone varieties. Since 1972, they have hand crafted wines from grapes grown in our vineyards to express their distinct character and genuine quality, offering you a unique experience to share.
On the nose, springtime aromas of honeysuckle and orange blossom meld with lush notes of apricot and pineapple. The floral bouquet reappears on the palate, flowing into highlights of citrus as well as softer notes of peach and apricot. Dry yet refreshing, have a glass before dinner or pair it with light Asian dishes.

An alumni of Sonoma State University, being in the heart of wine country only furthered the fascination and appreciation Jason had for the majestic drink. Now, as FBWorld.com’s wine editor, he hopes to convince people who claim to not like wine that they simply haven’t tried the right bottle yet. He also does not understand why more twenty-somethings don’t drink wine and wants to promote their appreciation for the stuff.
